Registration for SFD2007 is open! The 2006 team information has been moved to the archives. We will start over with a whole slate of new teams for 2007. Read on!
SFD Teams
Software Freedom Day is a global grass roots event organised by a growing number of SFD teams around the world. If you want to participate in SFD locally, check the list of teams below to see if there is one near you that you can join. If you were a team leader last year, simply go to the appropriate region and make a page for your team! You will need it in order to register this year, which you can do here. If you are new, see Forming a new regional team below.
Regional teams
You can also see a world map of teams that are registered on our world map, which is the easiest way to browse.
Forming a new regional team
If there are no teams in your area, you may consider forming one. Check out the Start Guide for some great tips on creating your team and event. Please announce your new team in the forum so that others can join up. Before you can officially register you will need to create a new wiki page for your team. Help can be found here. Ensure you put your activities, the place and time, volunteers, and any other useful information on your team page.
Check out previous TeamReports and make sure you submit your teams success on the TeamReports page too! There is also a gallery for you to submit some event photos! After the event, ensure you link or create your team report on TeamReports.
Global teams
Global teams can be formed in to work on specific tasks for Software Freedom Day, such as marketing or the website. Existing FOSS projects (who often have a global membership) can also form teams.
