      1. Robert will evaluate requests and divvy up 15k CDs, 500 shirts, and 1000 balloons. (We'll jiggle those numbers later as we know how many supplies we'll really have.) The board (probably Matt and Pia?) will review Upload new attachment "registeredteams.ods".

  2. FocusAreas Dedicate some board members to each of 5 FocusAreas as outlined by Pia. Think about which area(s) you want to work on!

  4. How we can empower teams better to help them do the on the ground stuff (such as media), and what else can we give them to make SFD a local success globally?
  5. How can we engage volunteers to ensure at a global organisation level the work done by the core team (namely us :) is expandable without having to expand the ctte unnecessarily in the future? We need to look at strategies to engage volunteers to help out in the logistics.

  1. Ways to perpetuate SFI/SFD activity. We want to be a year-round influence. How can we best accomplish this?
  2. Sponsorship solicitation.
  3. Press management. We need to do a better job of managing (i.e., mostly increasing) our press coverage. How should we do this, and who can make it happen?

Meeting extras and ideas for Sun 8th Jan

The idea of dividing up the committee into a few people to work on each area and to engage as many volunteers on their area as they can. Just an idea to better focus our approach, our efforts and the efforts of volunteers.

  1. Sponsorships and money raising ideas - management and growth

  2. Community building (initiatives to pull people in to do tasks and to rally global support for the day) - getting in the community collective consciousness

  3. Media and marketing - this would include creating written collateral for teams to use, looking for marketing/messaging opportunities, and tracking FLOSS events to ensure SFD presence as well as working with industyr rags

  4. Schwag - giveaways and merchandise organisation and distribution to teams and useful marketing events

  5. InfrastructureRoadmap -

Then we could have the website divvied up as above (which is mostly is already) and have a wiki page for each where we also engage with community people willing to help, thus spreading the work between more people more effectively and give newcomers somewhere to go to see what needs doing and what might interest them to help on.
