Document Freedom Day (or DFD) is a global day for document liberation. It is a worldwide event celebrating Open Standards and raising general awareness about the need for their adoption. DFD is actively redefining perceptions of Open Standards in media, public administration and educational institutions. In 2012 Document Freedom Day will be celebrated for the fourth time and targeting more than 42 events. To make these plans a reality, DFD needs your support as a partner of Document Freedom Day 2012! Talk with your friends/regional groups, and think about activities and events that you could organise to promote Open Standards.
Digital Freedom International fully endorses the effort and the message behind DFD as it is tightly linked to FOSS goals and hope that we can encourage SFD teams to celebrate the event as well.
Happy DFD to all!
